"PITOTS" filled with water, froze and confused computers.
Disorientation in flight, not knowing speed, allows you to go outside the envelope of safe flight, causing havoc on the airframe and eventually leading to failure. Disintegration flight, anyones worst nightmare.

Look at the story of the American Airlines flight the crashed on a clear day in Queens a month after 9/11. Excessive force was applied to the controls which caused them to move the angle of the rudder so far, it tore clean off. Possible then, way possible in those horrid storms of weather that lurk around the mid atlantic. THE THING TORE OFF !! THE ENGINES FELL OFF!!! Design Flaw? The next generation A350-1000 will be made of plastic and carbonfiber. Great. . . paper planes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/american_airlines_flight _587) check out the A350 too.

There are two probable explainations for the crash of Air France flight 447, one being bad and the other being worst. Four hours into what appeared to be a ordinary and routine flight; maybe after having eaten meal or getting ready to watch your own movie on your lap top, BOOM. . . an explosion! People freeze in terror with an ominous silence that lasts a second . . . everyone around you starts screaming roaring in terror. The plane violently shakes itself apart into 4, 5 then six pieces, passengers having long arrived instead of home, a much more peaceful place. A terrorist plot so transparent we cant see whats in front of us to which we may never know any more.

Or. . .

A compilation of factors that include weather among other things. Unparalleled that night were extremely horrific storms, a global effects of a changing world. Poorly engineered equipment failed to perform as expected. Finally the fact that thirty five thousand feet above the surface is a two hundred ton computerized machine ultimately controlled by a human brain. What we know isn't a perfect design either. The technology is very advanced, but far from perfect, perhaps tens if not hundreds of years from it. The rudder broke off as the plane didn't have the angle limiter on. The angle limiter is directly related to the speed. The faster the plane is traveling, the less you can move the rudder due to aerodynamic purposes. The speed sensors now filled with water and malfunctioned. The jet no longer knew its own speed as the speed senors were confused, autopilot disengaged. The pilots frantically tried to gain control of the confused aircraft as they increased speed to avoid stalling. Mountains of contradicting flight(speed senors) data caused one computer to crash, after another, after another. Unable to gain control the speeding jet,(not knowing speed and going so fast) it literally tore itself apart. An unparalleled storm and poorly engineered equipment. Flying has a long way to go.

The report that the plane was probably hit by lightning are irresponsible reporting. No one knows whether the plane was struck, and if it was, it would not matter.

In any case, anxiety develops. If you need help with the feelings, there is a lot of helpful reading in the free library at http://www.fearofflying.com/wordpress/
